A team led by Kakamega Golf Club Chairperson Dr Catherine Aura emerged the overall winner of the 5th leg of KCB East Africa Golf Tour played at the 9-hole Kakamega Golf Club on Saturday.

Dr Aura’s four-ball that also had Ronald Omondi, Beatrice Otieno, and Derek Mwaura returned a combined score of 114 points to secure a slot in the grand finale of the Tour.

They will be joined by a team consisting of Sanjiv Walias, Dr Protus Oketch, Justus Oyiengo and Logan Busolo, who carded a total of 110 points to finish second in the Kakamega leg.

The two winning teams have secured a slot each to take part in the KCB East Africa Golf Tour grand finale, which is scheduled for November at the Karen Country Club in Nairobi.

“This is a well-deserved win for us. Throughout the last week, we had been practicing as a team to sharpen our skills and get ready for the series. I can say teamwork and our passion for the game worked for us. I know we will be up against the crème de la crème in the grand finale, so we must go back to practicing and playing more to be able to compete at the highest level come November,” said Dr Aura on her win.
