Kenya Premier League Champions Gor Mahia have made a request that seems uncanny to many Kenyans ahead of its much-anticipated Sunday clash against archrivals AFC Leopards.

In a letter, Gor Mahia Secretary General Samuel Ochola urged club patron Raila Odinga to consider postponing his political rally slated for Sunday at Jacaranda grounds in Nairobi.

Ochola says the Azimio La Umoja public rally planned by Raila coincides with the Gor-AFC clash dubbed “Mashemeji Derby” scheduled for Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi on Sunday.

Alternatively, the Gor senior official asked the former Prime Minister to consider ending his rally dubbed “consultative meeting” early enough before the match kicks off at 3pm.

He argues that this would allow supporters of both K’Ogalo and Ingwe to make it to Nyayo Stadium on time for the anticipated clash of the historic rivals and not affect the turnout.
