In a splendid display of golfing prowess and community spirit, Chris Njoroge claimed victory at the 10th Annual Old Starehian Society Golf Tournament held over the weekend at Limuru Country Club.

Njoroge’s remarkable score of 49 points not only secured him the championship title but also underscored the event’s commitment to fostering educational opportunities for deserving students.

Gathering over 200 participants, including alumni and supporters, the tournament was organised by the Old Starehian Society (OSS) to benefit the Griffin Memorial Endowment Trust (GMET).

This initiative aims to fund the education of six students—four boys from Starehe Boys Centre and two girls from Starehe Girls Centre—ensuring a brighter future for those in need.

As part of the celebrations marking 65 years of Starehe Boys Centre, this tournament was more than just a competitive event; it was a heartfelt rallying cry for support.

The funds raised will significantly bolster the GMET endowment, securing the sustainability of the educational initiatives that have transformed countless lives.

In addition to Njoroge's victory, Njeri Kamau shone in the ladies’ category, earning the top spot with a commendable score of 42 points.

Meanwhile, Michael Njau showcased his skills in the men’s division, finishing as the overall male winner with an impressive tally of 48 points.

The tournament’s challenging course tested the mettle of all participants, fostering a spirit of determination and camaraderie among the players.

It provided an excellent platform for alumni and supporters to connect, reminisce, and strengthen their ties to Starehe.
