President William Ruto has affirmed Kenya’s commitment to the fight against doping.

Ruto said that on Thursday when he met the President of World Athletics Sebastian Coe at State House, Nairobi.


The president said the Kenyan government will go the extra mile to protect the integrity of athletics.

Ruto also announced the government has set aside Sh3.7 billion to aid the fight against doping for the next five years.

The head of state pledged to work in collaboration with Coe to create the right frameworks for athletics to thrive.

Ruto also said his administration will work together with partners, sportsmen and other stakeholders to end doping, which he said threatens our heritage.


“We will collaborate with partners, sportsmen and their contacts to tackle doping that threatens our heritage,” Ruto said.

The president thanked World Athletics for its consideration of Kenya’s situation.
