Peterborough 1-6 Chelsea
In their first game of pre-season, Chelsea gave a performance of intent even though it was against an inferior opponent. If the Blues can perform so admirably against Premier League opposition then they'd be in contention for the league title.
Hakim Ziyech stole the show with a hat-trick and Ross Barkley also starred. Outcast Danny Drinkwater also played for Chelsea for the first time in 1077 days.
Tammy Abraham and Christian Pulisic gave Chelsea halftime lead before Ziyech came on as a substitute to score three. Armando Broja scored the final goal for Chelsea in a comfortable 6-1 win.
The Blues next face Bournemouth, Arsenal and Tottenham before playing the Europa League winners Villarreal in the UEFA Super Cup.

Rangers 2-2 Arsenal
Arsenal played their second game of the pre-season in Scotland drawing 2-2 against Scottish champions Rangers. They lost to Hibernian 2-1 just 3 days ago.
Arsenal captain Pierre Emerick Aubameyang should've had a hat-trick before the break. In a fast-paced encounter, uncharacteristic of a pre-season friendly game, Aubameyang had the chance to give the Gunners a ninth minute lead but could only balloon his shot over the Rangers bar. The former Dortmund star had another chance to score when the ball was sent into the penalty area from the right, but he failed to make good contact and his header went wide of the target.
Rangers took the lead after 14 minutes when Leon Balogun rose highest to head home a James Tavernier corner. That lead did not last long as Arsenal new boy Nuno Tavares dispossessed Tavernier in the Rangers half before cutting inside and firing past Allan McGregor for his first Arsenal goal.
Arsenal played well, putting Rangers under constant pressure, without troubling the Gers goalkeeper.
Just before half time, Aubameyang completed his hat trick of misses with the worst of the lot. Emile Smith-Rowe cut Rangers' defence open and forced a save from McGregor, the ball fell into the path of the striker who could only miss from pointblank range.
Cedric Itten gave Rangers the lead from another Tavernier corner with a quarter of an hour to go. Eddie Nketiah who had come on for Aubameyang scored six minutes later to make it 2-2.
The Arsenal pressure continued as they pushed for the victory but were unable to convert a host of chances with Hector Bellerin and Willian the notable culprits.
Arsenal now head to States for a training camp in Florida.
Leyton Orient 1-1 Tottenham Hotspurs
In Nuno Espirito Santo's first game in charge of Tottenham, he could only manage a 1-1 draw against Leyton Orient.
With a host of big names missing after taking part in the just concluded Euros, Nuno called upon seven first team fringe players including Joe Hart, Eric Dier, Harry Winks and Dele Alli.
But it was 17-year old Dane Scarlett who stole the show with a goal. He slotted past Lawrence Vigouroux in the Orient goal.
Having brought off goalkeeper Joe Hart during the halftime break, Espirito Santo then changed all the 10 outfield players but it was Leyton Orient that had the last laugh when Ruel Sotiriou equalised.
