Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition presidential running mate Martha Karua has assured their supporters that they are still in the race and therefore they should maintain calm as the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) continues tallying votes
Karua said that on Saturday at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi during the Elected Leaders Inaugural conference where she said they have tallied the results and they already know who the winner of the Tuesday poll is.
“And by the way, we have tallied the results, but we can’t announce it,” Karua said.
Karua said they would have called it themselves if it was not for the patience to wait for the correct procedure.
"We know where we are and if we had the power, we would have called it ourselves, but we will wait," she said.

The former Gichugu MP urged Kenyans to guard the process at the Bomas of Kenya tallying centre where the IEBC is conducting the verification and tallying of all the election results from across the country jealously.
“We must jealously guard what is happening at the Bomas. We need to support that price to ensure that it is not infiltrated and not interfered with,” Karua said.
During her speech, Karua acknowledged the votes the coalition received from the Mount Kenya region and said even though they were not as much as expected, they will neutralise their opponents’ bragging effect in the region.
Speaking to leaders from the region, Karua thanked them for their efforts, especially those that were unsuccessful in their bids.
She assured them that none of them will be left behind as she encouraged victors to support every winner who is yet to be declared and issued with their certificates.
Karua hinted they will meet again after their win as they had a lot to do in building the nation.
"Immediately after the win, we shall meet again. We really have a lot of work to do to build one people one nation," Karua said.
