Police arrested three robbery and murder suspects on Wednesday in Bungoma County after a four-day sting operation.

The operation netted two main suspects: Maviala Shisanya 34, Xavior Ojuma #2 and a pastor Nicholas Mabiala also 32.

There has been a spate of crime, including murders that have rocked Nambale town in Busia county prompting an undercover team of detectives to conduct the operation aimed at nabbing culprits.

The operation was fruitful, and the three were arrested in Bungoma town before being whisked away to Nambale Police Station where they were interrogated further.

The suspects have been cooperating with the detectives and on Thursday; they led the detectives to their hideout where an assortment of items believed to have been stolen from victims were recovered.

The items include mobile phones, gas cylinders, music systems and other valuable items.

Investigations led to a 24-year-old woman who was found in possession of a 6-kilogram gas cylinder and a music system suspected to be spoils of the robbers’ criminal ventures.

The woman was also arrested for handling stolen property.

The suspects are currently being processed for arraignment in court to face robbery with violence charges.
