US iconic rapper DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, is still in ICU after a heart attack in the weekend and some of his 15 children reportedly rushed to visit him in hospital Monday.

The 50-year-old revered rapper remains on life-support and, according to a report by TMZ, a number of his children visited him on Monday to possibly say 'a final goodbye' to their dad.

A prayer vigil was conducted for DMX on Monday by his family, friends and fans outside the White Plains in hospital in New York where he is admitted in a “vegetative state”.

TMZ has also reported that due to Covid-19 safety restrictions, only one person is permitted to visit the loved rapper at a time as he fights for his life after a drug overdose on Friday.

A statement released by his family and lawyer Murray Richman on Sunday afternoon indicated that the ‘Slippin’ singer was still in a coma and connected to a ventilator.

Richman, however, said he could not confirm claims that DMX, who shot to fame with his ‘Ruff Ryders Anthem’ hit overdosed on drugs and what exactly caused the heart attack.

The iconic rapper shot to fame in the mid-90s and had an illustrious career before drup addiction and mental health problems as well as runins with the law dimmed his shine, even as he still enjoys massive love and respect from his family, fans and the rap industry.
