Smirnoff TM has announced the names of the 12 finalists who are set to compete for the Smirnoff Battle of the Beat coast region.

Through the “We Do We” global campaign by Smirnoff TM, the top 12 were selected from the Coast Region’s audition that took place in Mtwapa, Mombasa County.

The campaign consists of the Smirnoff Battle of the Beats (SBOB) DJ competition seeking to discover and nurture the best upcoming DJ talent in Kenya.

The 12 finalists from Coast Region are in the coming weeks scheduled to compete for the ultimate title of the regions, for a chance to be declared best DJ in Kenya.

The finalists from coast picked by panel of three judges are:

• DJ Pinchez Clique

• DJ Daddie

• DJ Mohluki

• DJ Calz Kenya

• Mr Vancie

“It is time for deejaying to be accepted as a viable career path, and the Battle of the Beats is a great way to appreciate and nurture the next generation of top DJs in Kenya. I am excited to be part of such an endeavour,” said SBOB Season 3 judge DJ Grauchi.

Smirnoff Brand Manager Catherine Twesigye says, through the competitive deejaying competition, Smirnoff seeks to nurture and uplift the next generation of vibe shifters.

“The Battle of the Beats is our way of ensuring that we stay true to our vibe while cultivating a bond of celebration and togetherness,” indicated Twesigye.

The chosen 12 are expected to stage their skills before a live TV audience, who will then vote for their favourite finalist to proceed top the next round that will have 8 finalists.

The 8 will proceed to the second round of the live TV stage, where four will be picked before the eventual winner of the Smirnoff TM Battle of The Beats competition Coast Region will be announced in the final round.

The Nairobi region edition will follow the completion of the Coast region edition, with auditions taking place on the 27th of September 2024. After which the winners from the five regions will compete for the overall SBOB winner title.
