Diamond Platnumz is the envy of fellow musicians after revealing he made more than Sh3.5 million from Youtube with the video for his song “Waah” featuring Koffi Olomide from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Diamond said he managed to make EUR 32,266 after loading the video on November 30, 2020 onto Youtube, which pays for views each video attracts, the faster the better.

His hit collabo with Congolese Lingala and rhumba musician Olomide, well known for his powerful melodic voice and dance moves, has received a lot of airplay and video views.

Diamond made the revelation as he shared the analytics of the “Waah” video since its launch while teaching other musicians how make money on the popular video platform.

By the time this story was being published, the video had attracted 60,528,068 views on Youtube meaning the money will keep pouring in as more people watch the addictive video.

Youtube pays content creators based on ads played and views and uses different pay models for Youtube content depending on the region the views emanate from, and Diamond encouraged fellow musicians to target the international market strategically.

Diamond’s Youtube channel, which has more than 600 video contents, currently has 5.04 million subscribers and he is among the most viewed musicians in Africa and the first artiste in Sub-Saharan region to attain one billion plus views collectively.
