India's leading food and agri-tech platform WayCool Foods on Wednesday announced the entrance of its technology arm, Censa, into the African food supply chain continuum.

Waycool says its strategic expansion seeks to tackle challenges in the African food supply chain and establish a tech-enabled entire food ecosystem and make it more resilient.

“Both India and Africa face similar food challenges, primarily due to fragmented supply chains,” said CensaNext Systems CEO Avinash Krishnakumar Kasinathan.

He added, “With its cutting-edge technology, Censa aims to address these challenges and boost yields, making Africa more resilient to tackle climate change and achieve food security.”

Avinash says the company's entry into Africa shows its commitment to revolutionize the global food ecosystem with Censa's world-class Software As a Service (SaaS) solutions.

The Censa platform was staged at the sixth edition of the Africa Agri Expo in Nairobi, Kenya.

The Indian company says Africa offers untapped opportunities and diversity in agriculture, offering high-quality farm produce.

Despite facing many hurdles including the unpredictable weather and restrictions in technology adoption, Africa is poised for progress in its food supply chain infrastructure.

The platform says the challenges avail opportunities for innovation and advancements in food security, making Africa a destination for sourcing the finest agricultural produce.

Censa is a unified tech platform powered by new-age tech, including Robotics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Language (ML) and the Internet of Things (IoT) at each stage of the food value chain.

The platform is designed to bring complete, real-time visibility and controls across the supply chain in terms of demand planning, growing, managing inventory, sales force automation, distribution, and credit management.

WayCool has utilized its platform, Censa, to efficiently source agricultural produce from 200,000 farmers and prominent Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) in India.

The platform enables smooth delivery to 1,25,000 customers, including processors, traders, retailers, Hotels, Restaurants and Cafes (HoReCa) brands, and discerning consumers.
