The NCBA Golf Series for 2025 teed off on Saturday at the lush Vetlab Sports Club in Nairobi paving the fairways for the first of 41 qualifier events that have been lined up for this year.
NCBA Group has committed a whopping Sh60 million for this year’s golf series which promises to be a thrilling and very competitive season for golfers across East Africa.
The initial event attracted more than 200 golfers to the Par-72 Vetlab Sports Club course with various winners to be crowned after triumphing in the stroke-play medal format game.

The 2025 Series, the fifth edition of the NCBA Golf Series, was officially unveiled last week at the Kenya Railway Golf Club, and aims to promote golf and develop talent across the region.
Speaking ahead of the series opener, NCBA Group MD John Gachora expressed his delight at the return to Vetlab Sports Club terming the course a fantastic tee off for the 2025 series.
“The series has grown significantly over the years, and we are excited about what’s to come in this year’s edition,” said Gachora.
He added: “We look forward to engaging with golfers and fans across the region as we continue to grow the sport.”
Here are a few highlights of the NCBA Golf Series as the 2025 edition kicked of at Vetlab setting the stage yet again for the premier corporate golfing event in Kenya and East Africa:
1. Sh6 million has been set aside for the continuation of the Kenya Amateur Golf Championship (KAGC), Sh12 million to boost a partnership with Junior Golf Federation (JGF), Sh1.17 million to launch a partnership between NCBA Golf Series and the Professional Golfers of Kenya (PGK).
2. In the past Four years, NCBA has conducted golfing tournaments in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda to promote the sport in the East African region.
3. NCBA Group is sponsoring the NCBA Golf Series premier golfing event for the fifth consecutive year in 2025.
4. In 2024, the series supported more than 130 golf events, including serving as the title sponsor for the 2024 KAGC and continued partnership with the JGF.
5. The 2024 series impacted more than 10,316 golfers from across East Africa.
6. NCBA has committed Sh60 million to sponsor 159 events in the 2025 series, 31 of them being KAGC events, 75 Junior events, 12 pro events and 41 events in total.
7. NCBA is supporting the few ongoing PGK events for three months with bigger things ahead, and sponsoring armatures who qualified for Kenya Open 2025.
8. Hundreds of young talented golfers hailing from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda are now eking a living playing golf courtesy of the NCBA sponsorship.
9. NCBA’s sponsorship of KAGC and JGF tournaments in the last five years has enabled more players to acquire their World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR).
10. The NCBA Golf Series has been deliberate in opening the golf doors to players across the age spectrum including golfers who are specially enabled.
11. The series has also seen NCBA lead golfers in tree-growing initiatives in all host clubs and in the process promoting environmental conservation and protecting their courses as part of its commitment to growing the sport sustainably.
