Kenyan boxer Sarah Achieng popularly known as 'Angel of Death' is scheduled to defend her Commonwealth Super Light Weight title at Charter Hall in Nairobi on Friday night.

Achieng says she is all set to square it out in the ring with Zimbabwean Chiedza Homakoma in a 10-round fight.

The celebrated Kenyan pugilist has been scaling up her training sessions at the Kariobangi Social Hall in Nairobi County for more than three months in readiness to face Homakoma.

She has expressed confidence she will retain the title for the second year running.

“The belt is going nowhere; the title is remaining here. I have done enough training, I feel my body is in great shape, I'm ready to punch to glory,” said Achieng confidently.

She added, “Together with my coach Priest Analo, we have come up with a game plan that will help us retain the belt.”

Achieng is the former Universal Boxing Organization (UBO) Inter Continental Female Lightweight champion.

on her part, Homakoma said she conducted her training for the bout in South Africa for more than a month and she has expressed confidence she will floor the “Angel of Death”.

“I'm not here for a vacation; I'm in Kenya for business, and the business is to win the belt,” declared Homakoma.

Achieng outpunched Malawi’s Anisha Basheel alias “The Massacre” in the much-anticipated super light weight bout staged on October 20 to grab the belt that was vacant then.

Kenya's Consolata Musanga will also face Uganda’s Salimat Tibesigwa on Friday night in an eight-round Pugilist Syndicate of Tanzania (PST) belt in the women's Super Bantamweight category.

While urging Kenyan boxing fans to turn up in large numbers on Friday night, Kenya Proffesional Boxing Commission (KPBC) President Reuben Ndolo said both belts to be contested have been sanctioned by the commission and their allied international bodies.
