UEFA temporarily suspended the match between Denmark and Finland following a medical emergency involving Denmark's Christian Eriksen.

Eriksen suddenly collapsed in the field because of reasons that are yet to be confirmed just a few minutes before the half-time.


He was chasing the ball rolled towards him when he collapsed to the ground and became unconscious. 

The referee alerted the bench and medical personnel went and administered CPR before the player was taken off the field. 


He was later transferred to the Rigshospitalet hospital in Copenhagen, Denmark, where he was stabilized and UEFA confirmed that he was out of danger, though tests are still being conducted. 

After the scary incident, the match was restarted after the request made by players of both teams and UEFA obliged.

In a debut to remember, the match later ended with Finland defeated Denmark 1-0 courtesy of a header from Joel Pohjanpalo.
