Sports journalist Robert Soi died on Wednesday at the Nairobi Hospital following complications emanating from a surgical procedure to remove a blood clot in his brain.
Soi’s family confirmed that he had been admitted to the hospital late last week after being involved in a road accident some time back and sustained serious head injuries.
According to the journalist’s family, the former KTN sports presenter underwent surgery but slipped into a coma then passed away on Wednesday afternoon.

His wife, Al Jazeera journalist Catherine Wambua-Soi has mourned her husband saying his death has broken her heart into a million pieces.
“My heart is broken into a million pieces. He was always our Roberto. Will forever be my Robs. My person has gone and I thank God he went knowing I've always had his back nomatter what. Rest with the angels baby, say hi to our dads. I'll see you there @R_SOI,” she posted on social media.
Before his death, Robert Soi worked at the China Global Television Network (CGTN).
