World football governing body FIFA has threatened to ban Kenya from all football activities if the stalemate between the government and FKF is not resolved.

The government had suspended FKF and appointed a caretaker committee to run football affairs something FIFA said is against its statutes.

In a letter to FKF CEO Barry Otieno, FIFA said that all member associations including FKF are statutorily required to manage their affairs independently without the influence of the third party.

FIFA added that any failures to the obligations may lead to sanctions provided for in FIFA statutes even if the third party influence was not the fault of the member association concerned.

FIFA has however expressed willingness to hold a meeting with FKF and the ministry of sports to address the concerns both sides may have and champion a way forward for the sake of Kenyan football.

CS Amina's purge of FKF comes in as investigations alleging misappropriation of public funds at the federation continues.
