Safaricom Chapa Dimba All-Stars ended their week-long international football camp in Spain on a high note, defeating SD Huesca U20 by 4-2 in their final friendly fixture on Sunday at the SD Huesca Academy Grounds.
The boys’ side sealed the victory with goals from Denzel Omollo, Armstrong Omondi, Brian Aroka, and Baraka Rodgers.
The hosts were gifted a goal after Joseph Maosa put the ball into his own net, before Felipe Montero added a second, but the Kenyan youngsters held firm to secure a memorable finish to their Spanish tour.
Earlier in the day, the girls’ team completed a training session conducted by Juan Ramón Fung, one of the academy’s coaches, setting the stage for the final showdown.
Reflecting on the experience, Baraka Rodgers expressed gratitude for the rare opportunity abroad.

"First, I want to sincerely thank Safaricom for this opportunity. It has been an incredible experience here in Spain, where football is such a big part of life," Baraka said.
"We have enjoyed our time and gained so much from this one-week elite camp. I believe experiences like these are crucial for young players like us, as they broaden our mindset and change how we approach the game.”
The All-Stars, a squad of 24 players evenly split between boys and girls, had travelled to Huesca on September 6, 2025, for the one-week bootcamp.
The group was drawn from regional and national qualifiers of Season Four of the Safaricom Chapa Dimba tournament.
During their stay, the players participated in tactical masterclasses, professional training sessions, and several friendly matches at the Base Aragonesa de Fútbol, SD Huesca’s state-of-the-art sports complex.
Away from the pitch, the team experienced Spanish culture through sightseeing, city tours, and attended a live Segunda División clash between SD Huesca and Málaga CF.
Safaricom executives hailed the programme for opening new horizons for Kenya’s budding footballers
Fawzia Ali, Chief Consumer Business Officer, said, “We have had a great week here in Spain, giving our youngsters invaluable exposure to professional football training. They have gained tremendous skills from the academy’s top coaches and experienced what it means to train in modern, world-class facilities.”
The Spain camp marked the climax of Season Four of Safaricom Chapa Dimba, an initiative designed to nurture and showcase grassroots football talent in Kenya.
This season, more than 10 players were identified for national-level opportunities, including Derrick Oketch and Austine Odongo of Shabana FC, Brighton Anyona of Gor Mahia, Brian Aroka of Tusker Youth, Neddy Moses Kithiji of 3K FC, Stanley Waswa of Ulinzi FC, Emily Morang’a of Kenya Police, Swaumu Masungo of Vihiga Queens, Hellen Mito of Madira Soccer Assassins, and William Odek of Zetech University, among others.
The tour not only provided elite training but also underscored the growing pathways available to young footballers in Kenya, closing the season with optimism for future stars.
