Popular Disc Jockey (DJ) Joseph Mwenda Munoru otherwise known as DJ Joe Mfalme and three other individuals believed to be law enforcement officers have been arrested in connection with the death of a Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officer.

Mfalme and the other three; two male and a female officer attached to the Traffic Department were arrested on Saturday in connection with a scathing attack against Kabete Police Station Deputy DCIO Felix Kitosi Kelian.

Unfortunately, Kitosi lost his life while undergoing treatment at the Nairobi West Hospital for the injuries he sustained from the beatings he received.

The deceased's brother Reinhardt Kitosi reported his death on Saturday.

According to a police report, the entire incident stemmed from an altercation that happened following a minor accident which occurred on March 16, 2024, near Kikuyu Police Station at around 4 in the morning.

"The deceased had been involved in a non-injury traffic accident within Kikuyu market near Kikuyu police station on March 16, 2024, at about 0400hrs," the report stated.

However, Kitosi's family claims that on that fateful day, their kin was assaulted at a popular nightclub in Kiambu after he allegedly scratched Mfalme's car at the establishment's parking while leaving.

That prompted bouncers at the establishment to confront him, yank him out of his car and descend on him with heavy bows and kicks before handing him over to the Kikuyu Police Station, where he was further assaulted allegedly by police officers.

The nightclub's management, which suggested the incident could have happened elsewhere has vehemently denied this account.

“I can assure you that the incident never took place within the club... If it had happened here then we could have resolved the issue,” the nightclub's management stated.

The deceased's family is calling for justice for their kin and is demanding swift action to be taken and answers surrounding his death.

"We want justice for our brother and nothing else. We want answers, whether he was targeted or what happened," the family said.

Mfalme and the other suspects are held at the Riruta Police Station in Dagoretti as they await to be arraigned in court on Monday.
