The Political Parties Dispute Tribunal (PPDT) has barred the Jubilee faction led by EALA MP Kanini Kega and Nominated MP Sabina Chege from acting on behalf of the party.
In a directive to the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP), the Tribunal also barred the faction from leading Jubilee Party out of the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party.
"It is hereby ordered that pending hearing and determination of the complaint and application filed herein inter partes, interim conservatory orders are hereby issued restraining all parties hereto and/or their representatives jointly and severally from issuing any communication and/or making any public representations on behalf of the Jubilee party," reads the order from PPDT.
It went on, "...and further staying communication dated 6th and 13th June 2023 issued by the 3rd Respondent and any other communication and or decisions that may have been issued and/or taken by any of the parties hereto on behalf of Jubilee party during the pendency of these proceedings."
The Kega-Sabina axis, which is allied to President William Ruto, had on June 6 made a resolution through a National Executive Council meeting to pull Jubilee out of Raila Odinga's Azimio coalition agreement.

Later on June 13, the faction announced it's resolve to withdraw from the opposition coalition.
The directive issued by PPDT on Monday further prevents Kega team from making any transaction on behalf of Jubilee Party, whose party leader remains former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The decision by PPDT led by Desma Nungo further stops the National Delegates Convention (NDC) being planned for July 22, 2023 by the Kega-Sabina axis.
The team led by Kega has been embroiled in a tussle with another faction led by Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni over the control of the former ruling party.
The Kioni led faction is allied to Raila and Uhuru and has pledged its allegiance to Azimio and opposition to Ruto's Kenya Kwanza administration.
