Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition leader, Raila Odinga, who has been on a brief stay abroad, is set to return to Kenya on Friday.

The party is preparing to give him a grand welcome at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), followed by a procession to the People's Baraza at Kamukunji Grounds in Kibra Constituency, where he will address the nation.

According to Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi, the Kibra People's Baraza will also set the stage for the peaceful mass action scheduled to resume in Nairobi Tuesday.

"On Friday, 28th April 2023, the Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga will return to the country from his brief stay abroad. As a party, we are gearing up to accord him a grand welcome on arrival at the JKIA, then join him in a grand procession to the People’s Baraza at Kamukunji Grounds, Kibra Constituency, on the same day," Wandayi said.

"The Rt. Hon. Odinga will address the nation at the said meeting. The Kibra People’s Baraza will also set the stage for the peaceful mass action that is set to resume in Nairobi on 2nd May 2023, as earlier announced."

He urged all supporters of the quest for a just, fair, and democratic nation that prioritizes its citizens to turn up in large numbers to welcome Rt. Hon. Odinga and attend the Kibra.

Wandayi further appealed to everyone attending the events to maintain peace and order, as they have done in the past. Let us all come together and show our support for a better Kenya.

"We appeal to all supporters of our quest for a just, fair and democratic nation that prioritises its citizens, to turn up in large numbers and welcome Rt. Hon. Odinga home and attend the Kibra rally," he said.

"We further appeal to everyone attending the twin events to maintain peace and order as we have done in the past."

Raila took to his social media to express his earrness to return into the country and resume with his protests.

"I can't wait to be back in Kenya this Friday as we take it back to the people," he said.

This comes as the Azimio and Kenya Kwanza teams set to take part in the bipartisan fail to agree on some issues both parties feel are pertinent thus stalling the process.
