Former Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala has been appointed as the new Secretary-General of the ruling party UDA replacing Veronica Maina, who is now a nominated Senator.
Malala, who was recently shortlisted for the position of Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) was scheduled to appear before the Public Service Commission (PSC) to be interviewed.
“Secretary General Cleophas Malala pledges to spearhead the implementation of the party's bottom-up economic transformation agenda. He said he will ensure UDA is an all-inclusive party that accommodates all Kenyans,” said UDA on the appointment on Monday.
Similarly, the party led by President William Ruto has picked Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire as its Chairperson replacing former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama, who was recently appointed a member of the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC).

UDA has announced that it will commence a month-long countrywide membership drive from March 1, 2023 to April 30, 2023 ahead of its grassroots and party leadership elections.
