Police in Kasarani, Nairobi have launched a manhunt for a 30-year-old woman who stabbed her ex-lover who is a Zimmerman-based police officer.

The suspect identified as Pamela Njambi attacked the officer on Sunday night at around 10 pm before fleeing the scene allegedly after attempts to rekindle their lost flame hit a snag.

According to the officer, Njambi had invited him to her house to iron out their differences and jumpstart their failed relationship.

However, the officer said he turned down Njambi’s proposal and informed her he had already moved on with his life.

Apparently, the officer’s pronouncements were unpalatable for the jilted Njambi who trailed the officer after he stormed out of her house.

As the officer approached the gates to the apartment, Njambi launched her attack on him and stabbed him in the abdomen with a sharp object before fleeing into the night.

The officer raised the alarm and asked for help from well-wishers who responded swiftly and rescued him and rushed him to St. Johns Hospital where he received emergency aid before he was transferred to a specialised city facility for further medical attention.

Report from the hospital shows that the officer is currently in stable condition as the police have intensified the suspect’s manhunt.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has noted the increase in knife attacks between couples and advised couples to seek alternative dispute resolution modes.

The DCI said couples could seek the intervention of their family members, professional counsellors, church leaders and others instead of resorting to such unlawful acts which attract dire consequences.
