Controversial lawyer and revolutionary Miguna Miguna announced he will return to the country soon.

Miguna took to his social media on Tuesday to share the information that President William Ruto assured him that the red alerts against him that have derailed his repatriation, will be lifted on Wednesday.

He expressed his joy at the president’s assurance that the alerts would be lifted.

“I’m happy to announce that President @WilliamsRuto has assured me that the RED ALERTS will be LIFTED on Wednesday, September 14, 2022,” Miguna said.

According to Miguna, after the red alerts are lifted, he will have his Kenyan passport renewed.

After the renewal of his passport, Migula will then announce the date he will return to Kenya.

“Thereafter, I will have my Kenyan Passport renewed and I'll announce the date of my RETURN TO MY MOTHERLAND. Bravo!” Miguna said.

Miguna is a Kenyan-born Canadian attorney, Barrister and Solicitor based in Toronto.

He was once an aide to the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition leader Raila Odinga between 2009 and 2011.

In 2017, Miguna administered Raila’s mock oath at Uhuru Park as the ‘People’s President' following the disputed election in which Uhuru Kenyatta was announced the winner.

Shortly after, in February 2018, Miguna was arrested and deported to Canada, leading to a fallout between him and Raila.

Miguna has since been trying to reenter the country, but all his attempts have been futile.

Kenyan officials said Miguna was no longer a Kenyan citizen after taking up Canadian citizenship over twenty years ago and failing to complete his paperwork to reapply for Kenyan citizenship.
