The Defence CS Eugene Wamalwa has called out on the Kenya Kwanza Alliance presidential candidate William Ruto over his disparaging remarks in which he referred to the CS as a woman.
Wamalwa responded to Ruto telling on Wednesday him by insulting him the way he did, he had stooped to the lowest level in his public life. The CS also said the insult Ruto threw at him was very unpresidential.
He was speaking in Kanduyi Sub-county where he kicked off title deed issuance to Bungoma county residents from the 9 sub-counties.
"Today William Ruto you have stooped the lowest you have in your public life. What you said today, the insult against Eugene Wamalwa was quite unpresidential...very unpresidential. And this I would like to ask you with due respect, I respect you," Eugene said.

"I have never insulted you. If I speak the truth maybe there are events that happen within the cabinet but because to the non-disclosure oath we take we don't say everything that happened."
Wamalwa disclosed that in 2008, Ruto wanted to sack him from the cabinet and maintained he also wanted to slap him and Matiang'i over reasons he did not disclose.
"But when I speak the truth that William Ruto you wanted to sack me in 2018, it is the truth. That you were irate such that you wanted to slap me it is the truth, it's not an insult. That you wanted to slap Fred Matian'i it is the truth we have witnesses. This is because it is about your character and what happened," the CS said.
Wamalwa further took a walk back into history and revealed how the Deputy President once hit the late William Chesire who was Wamalwa's brother-in-law, during the late retired president Daniel Moi's regime.
"This you have not started today, anger management is an issue that you have because even during Moi's tenure, you slapped the late Reuben Chesire, my brother-in-law, it is on your record. So when we say what you have done maybe because of anger and failure to manage your anger Eugene Wamalwa is not insulting you so why would you come home to insult me?" Wamalwa posed.
Wamalwa also revealed it was President Uhuru Kenyatta who appointed him to the cabinet and not Ruto as he claimed.
The CS added that Ruto was opposed to his appointment when Uhuru appointed him to his cabinet.
"Today he said that I was washed up and he picked me up from the gutters and that if it was not for him, I would not have been a cabinet secretary. Today I want to say it in front of all of my people. You are my parents, you are my brothers and sisters. Uhuru Kenyatta is the one who appointed me to be a cabinet secretary in his cabinet. And when he appointed to be a cabinet secretary, William Ruto opposed my appointment," Wamalwa added.
While responding to Wamalwa's claims that he wanted to slap him and the Interior CS Fred Matiang'i during his recent rally in Western, Ruto denied the allegations saying they do not slap women from where he comes.
"I heard someone I gave a ministerial job who comes from this region of yours claiming that I wanted to slap him. I would like to tell these people...you know in our place, we do not slap women, isn't it? Go and give him that response," RUto said.
