Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga on Thursday met and held talks on a variety of issues with Uganda President Yoweri Museveni at State House Entebbe in Uganda.

Raila and Museveni discussed how to enhance ties between Kenya and Uganda as they also touched on the August election in which the ODM leaders is seeking the presidential seat.

“I received Rt. Hon. @RailaOdinga, who paid me a courtesy call at State House Entebbe this evening. We discussed a wide range of issues concerning our two countries. I welcome him,” said Museveni in a post on his social media platforms.


The two East African leaders also dwelt on the shared political and trade history between the two East African economies and how to improve on those after the August election.


“We walked down memory lane to discuss the shared history of our countries aimed at forging stronger ties moving into the future,” posted Raila on his social media pages.

He added, “That formed the core of a pleasant discussion with President @KagutaMuseveni at Statehouse in Entebbe, Uganda.”


Raila flew to Entebbe a day after visiting neighboring South Sudan where he went to witnesses the commissioning of the Freedom Bridge that connects Juba to the region.
