Mumias East Member of Parliament Benjamin Washiali has said he will not be running for office come 2022 general election.
Washiali took to his Twitter account to share his latest political decision.
Washiali who has been elected the area MP for three terms has confirmed he will not be on the ballot.
“Therefore come August, I will not be running for office," Washiali tweeted.

Before the announcement, Washiali had earlier hinted at vying for Kakamega senatorial seat.
Washiali asked the people of Mumias East to vote a tenacious leader, zealous in their service delivery.
“It is with much humility that I therefore once again ask you people of Mumias East to come August, elect a leader who will not only better the best that we have achieved this far, but also be tenacious and zealous in their service delivery,” he said.
The key ally of Deputy President William Ruto was elected to office on Jubilee party’s ticket.
However, he changed his allegiance to DP Ruto after the monumental handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
