Itumbi was allowed to go home after spending a week in hospital where his allies claimed he had been admitted with fractured limbs and was even in ICU.
According to his brother David Itumbi, the UDA digital strategist had made tremendous improvement and was walking on his own but with support.
“We thank God my brother @OleItumbi has made tremendous improvement. 24 hours after release from ICU he was walking on his two feet though he needed support. It's now path to recovery. God willing he should be out of hospital soonest,” David said.
Itumbi was hospitalised a week ago after he was allegedly kidnapped by unidentified individuals outside a barber shop in Thindugua along Kiambu Road.
When he emerged a day later in hospital, he alleged that he had been tortured and his limbs broken before being dumped in Lucky Summer, Kasarani.
However, photos circulating of him on release from the hospital have raised more questions on the veracity of his claims of having a fractured leg and arm.Keen social media users and medical experts have questioned how he was able to put on a tight pair of jeans with his broken leg and aso clasp onto a cratch with his fractured hand, without any sign of grimace on his face.
Others also raised questions on what happened to his bleeding eye that was captured in photos shared by his allies when he first appeared in hospital.
Those who have questioned Itumbi's fracture claims since he was hospitalised have been met with rebuke on social media for being insensitive to his plight.
In a presser on Saturday, flanked by his UDA colleagues, Itumbi vowed that he would name his abductors during a church service in the coming weeks.
Many have now been left wondering whether the whole ordeal was stage-managed or overplayed to gain wide public sympathy and political mileage.
