Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has affirmed that he will be on the ballot come the 2022 general election.
The KANU chairman declared his presidential bid on Sunday at the African Inland Church (AIC) in Tandui, Baringo Centra.
Gideon called upon the Kalenjin community to give him their blessings with which he said he was sure of flooring other presidential hopefuls.
“I have already made an ultimate decision and I am not backing down, however tough the duel is. I am only asking my community to support me in this journey and not backstab me,” Gideon said.
Gideon told the Kalenjin community that if he loses in the election, he would have humbly lost, and if he won, it would be to the advantage of the community. He also expressed his optimism about winning the presidency.

“If I lose, I will have lost humbly than being despised and if I win, it will play to our advantage as well and I am very optimistic that we will trounce our opponents to clinch the presidency,” he added.
He said his party will make a declaration on September 30, 2021, at the Bomas of Kenya from where plans for securing the presidency will be revealed.
Gideon promised to go back to Baringo to seek the blessing from the Kalenjin community after the Bomas declaration.
He emphasized the need for the Kalenjin community to speak in one voice if his political ambition was to become a reality.
