Police have in custody, a man suspected of stabbing his friend in the neck to death after an argument.

The 25-year-old suspect identified as Daniel Waithera stabbed his 21-year-old friend Michael Mukami.

The friends had boarded a boda boda together and after the ride; the time came to pay the rider for his services.

An argument ensued between the two about who would pay for the ride and apparently things turned sour when Daniel dashed into his house from where he fished a knife which he came back wielding.

He stabled his friend Michael on the left side of the neck and scrammed from the scene, leaving his friend for dead.

The shocked boda boda rider performed his duty as a good citizen and reported the matter at the Kikuyu Police Station.

Police officers quickly swung into action and launched a manhunt for Daniel. After a few hours, the suspect was arrested with help from members of the public.

The murder weapon, which is a crucial part of the evidence was also recovered.
