Education and security officials interrogated teachers at Thiru Primary School in Laikipia West over an incident where three pupils at the school were tied to a tree as a punishment.
Images of the three small boys tied up around a tree circulated across social media and caused an uproar.
The school’s deputy head-teacher is alleged to have tied up the boys to a tree as a punishment for mischief.
The deputy head-teacher went ahead and took photos of the pupils and shared them on the school teachers WhatsApp group from where a teacher leaked them out.
A multi-agency task force directed the Director of Criminal Investigation’s office to probe two senior teachers at the school over the matter.

The task force was led by Nyahururu Sub-County Deputy County Director Moses Muroki.
Muroki ordered the DCI office to open investigations against the school’s head-teacher Shelsmith Thimba and her deputy David Maina.
According to Irene Kandege, an official from the Teachers Service Commission in charge of quality assurance standards in the Rift Valley region, disciplinary actions will be taken against the school heads should they be found guilty.
