A Tuskys supermarket employee is reported to have robbed a cashier at Tuskys, Karasha branch on Kenyatta Avenue and made away with Sh320,000 on Saturday May 9, at 7:00pm.

The cashier had gone to the safe to get some cash when the employee accosted her wielding a knife and threatened her into handing over the sum.

The employee made away with the cash, which was the cashier’s cash collection for the entire day.

Law enforcement officers came to the scene moments after the unfortunate incident and questioned the staff members who witnessed the incident.

The police however discovered that the supermarket’s Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) server was destroyed during the stick-up and the whole incident was not captured by the surveillance equipment.

Arrests are yet to be made, and that’s according to Nairobi police boss Augustine Nthumbi.

Karasha branch is one of the very few branches remaining of the 64 after the Tuskys supermarket faced financial challenges closing down the rest of the branches throughout the county.
