Auctioneers on Tuesday morning raided The National Mirror media house headquarters based at the Flamingo Towers in Nairobi’s Upper Hill area.

The unexpected visitors knocked at the doors of The National Mirror HQ sending the tens of staff members into panic on their fate.

According to sources, the auctioneers' action came following a Sh3 million debt the media house reportedly owed in accumulated rent arrears.

The auctioneers are said to have seized equipment of unknown value including computers, cameras, and TV monitors among other transmission equipment.

Currently, only the radio section of the media house remains on air.

The source disclosed that the media house linked to the former Muranga Governor Mwangi wa Iria has been facing financial difficulties recently occasioning delayed salaries for its staff for the past six months and accumulation of the said rent arrears.

The National Mirror Limited also owns Gichichio TV, Mirror TV and Gichichio FM.
