Simon Mbugua is going to fly the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) flag in the Starehe parliamentary contest.

Mbugua was issued the nomination certificate on Thursday.

This comes after UDA National Elections Board chairperson Anthony Mwaura announced the nominations were suspended in some parts of Nairobi county and alternative methods would determine the best-suited candidates for the positions.

Mwaura also revealed that the incumbent member of parliament Charles Njagua and Mbugua, had signed a commitment that either will accept the results of an opinion poll that will determine who will fly the UDA ticket in the Starehe parliamentary race.

According to UDA, the primaries in Starehe were suspended because of instances of violence.

Njagua and Mbugua were the major contenders for the Starehe constituency UDA ticket.
