ODM leader Raila Odinga toured Kilifi County on Sunday for Azimio Mtaani Kilifi and to popularise his presidential bid.

Raila in on a tour of the Coastal region this weekend and this Saturday he pitched camp at Bamba.

He pledged to build factories in the region to process minerals that abound in the area for export.

“We will build factories. This coastal region abounds with a lot of minerals. Some people are only used to seeing cement, but there are a lot of minerals here. We will build factories that use those minerals as raw materials to make products for export and that will also create employment for the youth,” Raila said.

Raila also reiterated his pledge to introduce the Sh6000 monthly stipend for the low-income households when he becomes president.

He said he has served as a Prime Minister for this country for five years, therefore, knows the loopholes through which corrupt individuals pilfer government resources that can sustain the program

“We are going to introduce the program known as the Social Protection Program. This is operational in the US, in Europe, Brazil and even India where I came from recently,” Raila reiterated.
