Kisumu Governor Prof. Anyang' Nyong'o has received endorsement from elders drawn from the clans of the Kano community, declaring their support for him to be re-elected for another term.

The council declared their support while at the home of their vice-chairman Miruka Masero in Nyang'oma ward.

Eight members of the county assembly drawn from Nyando, Muhoroni, and Kisumu West sub-counties joined governor Nyong'o at the meeting where they discussed development programs and the ongoing mass voter registration in the county.

“It was great meeting elders from all the Kano clans in Kisumu County. I am humbled by your support, blessings, and commitment of faith in my leadership. I will not disappoint you,” Nyong’o said.

Members of the county assembly present praised Prof Nyong'o for his track record during his first tenure in the office.

“Let us say the truth, Prof Nyong’o has done a commendable job. He has delivered almost 90 per cent of the promises he made in his manifesto in 2017. He is the best bet,” they said.

They the governor to construct a shrine at the site where the legendry Luo warrior Lwanda Magere from Kano was killed.

Similarly, the elders declared their full support to ODM leader Raila Odinga.
