Orange Democratic Movement Secretary Ewin Sifuna has defended Suna East MP Junet Mohamed after the legislator became subject to online attacks following his remarks at a fundraiser in Nyamira County.
Junet's sentiments suggested that if Raila Odinga wins, the government will be owned by the people from Nyanza did not augur well with Kenyans and politicians allied to DP Ruto.
Sifuna has, however, clarified that the MP was making a joke and that the government of Raila will be all-inclusive.
"He was talking in a light note, there are people who do not know jokes; I can assure you Junet Mohammed was joking. Don't listen to what someone said jocularly and start getting angry. Raila Odinga's government will not belong to Nyanza people alone, it will be for the entire country," he said.
Junet came under fire on Saturday 23 by Kenyans after he claimed that should the former prime minister clinch the presidency, power will be centred in his Nyanza stronghold.
