Y254 Channel TV presenter Phyline Jean has been nominated for two categories in the inaugural Shining Stars Awards in South Africa.

Jean, who has been flying high with her youthful show on the channel owned by state broadcaster KBC, launched her career six years ago and her star has been rising globally.

She has been nominated in the "Best Female TV Personality of the Year" and the "Best Media Personality of the Year” categories at the Awards and is hopeful of bagging both.

Speaking to Swala Nyeti, she expressed optimism this will be the year she brings the awards home after missing to clinch a number of other awards she had been nominated in recently.

In 2022, she was nominated in two categories at the Zikomo Awards in Zambia; Best Dressed Media Personality and Best Female TV Personality of the Year but missed both.

Earlier in 2020, Jean was also nominated in Kenya’s Talent-Preneur awards show in the “Most Influential Talent TV Host” category as her talent started to be noticed locally.

“I have worked very hard in the last six years of my career in the media industry. I believe I have what it takes to bring these awards home from South Africa,” Jean told Swala Nyeti.

Nominations for the Shining Stars Africa Awards 2023 commenced on June 24 and terminates on August 15, 2023 with the awards slated for Johannesburg in South Africa.

According to its website, Shinning Stars Africa Awards is an International Award ceremony that celebrates individuals and organizations that are very doing well in various industries.
