Kenya Airways (KQ)  issued a statement on Monday, informing its esteemed customers about anticipated changes in flight schedules.

In the statement, KQ said the disruptions were a direct result of adverse weather conditions, leading to turn-backs/diversions, as well as unscheduled technical maintenance affecting three of the airline's aircraft.

However, the national carrier announced that all aircraft were successfully returned to service as of Monday evening, 3rd July 2023.

"We would like to advise our guests on expected flight schedule changes due to bad weather resulting in Turn-backs/diversions and 3 of our aircraft undergoing unscheduled technical maintenance. All aircraft have been returned to service by evening of Monday, 3rd July 2023," the statement read.

In light of these circumstances, Kenya Airways said it was working tirelessly to restore normalcy to its flight schedule, recognizing the inconvenience caused to its passengers.

KQ extended its apologies for any disruption to travel plans and emphasized its commitment to ensuring a seamless and reliable travel experience.

"We are working round the clock to restore normalcy in the flight schedule and apologize for any inconvenience caused," stated the airline.

According to KQ, operations are expected to resume by Thursday as the airline dedicates its efforts towards swiftly addressing the situation and minimizing further disruptions to passenger travel plans.

"Normal operations are expected to be restored by Thursday, 6th July 2023," the national carrier said.

To keep affected guests well-informed, Kenya Airways has taken proactive measures to communicate directly with them.

KQ further said messages and updates regarding flight changes and rescheduling will be sent via email or direct messages.

The airline urges all passengers to ensure their contact information is up to date, either during the booking process or by utilizing the "manage my booking" function on Kenya Airways' official website or mobile application.

Kenya Airways encourages its passengers to stay informed, provide complete contact information, and utilize the available communication channels for updates on their flights.

"We will send communication and updates to all affected guests directly by message or email. Guests are encouraged to always provide their complete contact information during booking or via “manage my booking” function on our website or App," the statement read.
