Media personality Betty Kyallo and the Kyallo sisters have made headlines on many occasions with their lives trending on Twitter among other social media platforms.

For the first time, the Kyallo sisters have decided to open up all dimensions of their lives in their new reality series Kyallo Kuture, which is now streaming on Showmax.

“You’re not getting married again, are you?” Gloria, the youngest of the Kyallo sisters asks Betty in the first few moments of episode 1.

“I think I just want to do it to prove haters wrong,” Betty responds, teasing on what’s to come as Kyallo Kuture explores, among other things, the sisters’ love lives.

Betty and her short-lived public marriage to fellow anchor Dennis Okari saw her dating life become the source of many juicy blog stories, while Mercy lives hers as a mysterious mess.

Is Gloria currently dating anyone we know? All these questions are answered in the new show that takes a candid look at what an ideal relationship means for a Kyallo sister.

Episode 1 also reveals rifts between Betty and Mercy as Gloria seeks to distance herself from their fight even as she is taken down memory lane to their childhood home in Kahawa West.


Over the 13 weekly episodes, Kyallo Kulture will also explore tragic events in Betty’s life including the accident that left her with scars that affected her confidence for many years.

In business, the show shines the spotlight on the Kyallo sisters’ entrepreneural spirit with Mercy highlighting her CEO journey setting up luxury leather bag business Yallo Leather.


Betty also takes us through her boutique salon, Flair by Betty, as well as her much talked about business partnership with a friend who ended up being her competitor.

“We’ve always wanted to have our own show out there because we feel like we have something to give. Betty said during an interview.

“We’re going to be very candid about who we are, and about our life struggles and happiness,” Mercy added.


Mercy went on, “Until now, you’ve seen her glamorous side, and the beautiful Betty on screen as a news anchor. Now, you’re about to see her funny side.”

She concluded, “I was scared to do a reality show because with a show like this, you have to be vulnerable but she brings so much humour to the show that I feel very comfortable putting myself out there.”

Kyallo Kulture is created and executive-produced by Eugene Mbugua under his production company, Documentary and Reality TV (D&R).
