Comedian Eric Omondi on Monday claimed that the Nairobi Metropolitan Services has ordered him to vacate his studios only days after he launched them in an elaborate flashy ceremony.

Omondi, who shared a video capturing the gates to Lavington studios spray-painted the words ‘Illegal NMS Site closed on 30.11.2020’ in red, lashed out at NMS headed by Major General Mohammed Badi.

The celebrated comedian claimed he was being shut down for allegedly being located in a residential area, even as he failed to provide evidence apart from the spray panted gate.

Omondi lamented claiming he was being targeted yet other commercial entities like Coke Studios and Azam TV among others were located only a stone throw away from his premises.

He has vowed to soldier on saying he was will not shut down his ongoing projects.

“First and foremost, we are not going anywhere, we will be here for a very long time. Vijana wakilala wanahukumiwa, Wakiiba wanauliwa, wakiamka kufanya kazi ma Cartels wanawaziba …But this time they have touched a Live wire and they will burn!!! They are playing with the wrong person,” Omondi warned.

He is now blaming the actions on an unnamed woman.

“So, I am told there is a woman whom I have never met who is responsible for all this. I don’t know her but I am told she even came to my studios during my launch. I don’t know who has paid her but I want to tell her I am giving her 24 hours to come clean this gate and send me a written APOLOGY,” added Omondi.

It is unclear if the notice is authentic and came from NMS as the Badi team is yet to issue an official statement on the matter and why he would be shut down as he is continuing with works on his dream project.

Many of his comedy colleagues and other celebrities shared their anger at the move under the post wondering why his studios were being targeted and urged him not to give in.
