Media personality and comedian Herman Kago, better known as Professor Hamo, has revealed that he was never fired from his radio job at Hot 96.
In an interview with fellow comedian Jalang’o, Hamo said he opted for an exit because while at the station he had no time to fulfil his other projects.
He disclosed he wanted to do other gigs like advertisements, emceeing etc which could earn him enough more money.
‘’I was there to learn. I am a young man and was expected to go out and hustle. I realised I could not hustle properly while on the radio. It was hindering me. You could not even get time to sleep well, how could you even get the time to move around. I wanted to be moving around and hustle by doing different things. If you do not have enough money and you are stuck on the radio, it does not make sense. I am a hustler, I am a hawker, I was not okay with just sitting and waiting for a salary every 15th. TV taught me how to be a hustler, then I could do all kinds of things away from the TV. After one year, I realised I could not run around. If you are passionate about creating wealth, you can never grow wealthy in employment no matter how lucrative it is,’’
During the interview, Hamo opened up that he approached his employer and demanded a pay rise, but unfortunately, they did not get to a mutual agreement.
