Details have emerged on why embattled comedian Prof Hamo was fired from Hot 96 fm, a radio station owned and operated by the Royal Media Services (RMS).

Swalanyeti.co.ke has been reliably informed that the company owned by billionaire SK Macharia decided to terminate his contract after he failed to show up to work for weeks.

According to our sources, Prof Hamo allegedly stayed away from the show he co-hosted with Jeff Koinange for weeks without offering any explanation verbally or in writing.

He is said to have also failed to respond to an email letter sent to him by the company’s bosses to give reasons for his absence and why he should not be summarily dismissed.

It is at this point that RMS Human Resources wrote him a termination letter ending his employment at the station that he joined in September 2018 after leaving Churchill Show.

He hosted The Hot Breakfast show alongside seasoned journalist Jeff Koinange and his spot was taken temporarily by producer and assistant station head Steven Maloba alias VJ Clyde.

Hamo has remained tight-lipped on his exit from the station, coming after the station came up with new regulations barring its tv and radio presenters from being engaged by corporates for emcee, advertising and influencer jobs over alleged conflict of interest.

This comes as the comedian is involved in an public spat with fellow comedian and lover Jemutai, who had outted him as an alleged dead beat dad, a claim he denied and demanded a paternity test on their two children as they sought to resolve the matter amicably.
