The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has announced revised petroleum pump prices from Tuesday to February 14, 2025.
According to EPRA, the maximum retail prices for Super Petrol, Diesel, and Kerosene will increase by Sh0.29, Sh2.00, and Sh3.00 per litre, respectively.
The adjustments are in line with Section 101(y) of the Petroleum Act 2019 and Legal Notice No. 192 of 2022.
EPRA confirmed that these prices include the 16 per cent Value Added Tax (VAT) as mandated by the Finance Act 2023, the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2024, and inflation-adjusted excise duty rates as per Legal Notice No. 194 of 2020.
Despite a marginal decrease in the average landed cost of Super Petrol, which fell by 0.14 per cent from US$612.53 per cubic metre in November 2024 to US$611.69 in December 2024, the prices at the pump increased.

Similarly, Kerosene's average landed cost dropped by 1.62 per cent from US$660.30 per cubic metre to US$649.64 over the same period.
Diesel, on the other hand, recorded a slight increase of 0.06 per cent from US$643.69 to US$644.10 per cubic metre.
EPRA’s price review reflects fluctuations in global oil markets and the impact of tax regulations.
The changes will likely affect household budgets and the cost of transportation, with Diesel and Kerosene being widely used in various sectors across the country.
