Akua Owusu-Nartey has been promoted to become the Ogilvy Africa Chief Client Officer across Sub-Sahara Africa to boost operational excellence for top clients in the continent.
Akua will also be the Head of Connected Culture and will collaborate with the Leadership and People Teams to engrain Ogilvy’s belief system and values into a lived experience.
She has more than 18 years of experience as a highly respected marketing practitioner and has been instrumental in linking Ogilvy Africa clients with their target audiences.
“Akua’s experience, focus and leadership for the seven years she has led our business in Ghana and West Africa will help us optimally partner with our clients in the achievement of their success today and tomorrow,” said Ogilvy Sub-Saharan Africa CEO Vikas Mehta.
Mehta intimated that Akua is a respected professional and a leader and expressed confidence in her vision and tenacity to transform the organization from within.
“I am delighted to have her on board in this new capacity and excited about the future Ogilvy we will create in Africa, together,” Mehta added.
On her part, Akua pledged to use her dual role to help Ogilvy Africa staff to deliver on their work in a ‘Connected Culture’ that helps them thrive, enjoy and grow as they help clients succeed.

The new appointment of Akua, who will continue to be based in Accra, Ghana as she partners with colleagues across Sub-Saharan Africa, is effective from August 1, 2023.
