The Wine and Beer Company on Friday unveiled its flagship store in Nairobi boasting of a collection of more than 1,100 alcoholic products selected from more than 40 countries.
The English store, which was incorporated in the UK on December 2, 2019, says the new outlet located at Basic in Kileleshwa will provide Kenyans with an exclusive selection of alcoholic products.
Speaking at the launch, National Treasury Principal Secretary Dr Chris Kiptoo said the opening of the store showcased Kenya as the regional leader in attracting investments.
“This store is an example of local and international partnerships in investment showing that Kenya remains the best destination in this region with a diversified and resilient economy,” said Dr Kiptoo.
He added, “Kenya gives access to not just the local market, but the entire African market with over 1.2 billion people.”
The PS challenged the private sector to run sustainable businesses with minimal waste through committing to the Kenya Extended Producer Responsibility Organization (KEPRO).
Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency (KEPROBA) Director Taj Bedi lauded his partnership with Wine and Beer Company to set up the independent liquor retail store.
“We look forward to sharing our experience with Kenyans in this journey,” stated Bedi.
A host of dignitaries attended the launch among them BIDCO Chairman Vimal Shah and former United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Secretary-General Dr Mukhisa Kituyi.
