Chinese mobile phone manufacturer Tecno on Monday launched its Camon 19 series and Spark 9 Series in a colourful ceremony held at Ole Sereni Emara Hotel in Nairobi.

The event attended by a host of top celebrities and influencers marked the first time Tecno Mobile Kenya held a joint official release of two devices in the country.

Camon 19 series targets young fashionistas, pays attention to photography in night and in low-light conditions and boasts of a 64MP bright night portrait photography technology and the slimmest 0.98mm bezel.


The phone also features the RGBW colour filter sensor technology, adding a white sub-pixel to the existing universal RGB configurations that enhances the light intake by 30 percent.


“We’re very proud to introduce the Tecno Camon 19 series and Spark 9, we continue to reinforce Tecno’s commitment to exploring more possibilities in the fusion of technology, innovation, and design,” said Peter Shi, Tecno Mobile Kenya Brand Manager.


Tecno Camon 19 series recently announced it had picked Otile Brown as its brand ambassador and the Chief Creative Officer to inspire how the designers create the device.

The series also partnered with 48 Hour Film Project - Nairobi Chapter, which is a continuation from last year’s partnership with the Camon 18 series.


The Camon 19 series will further partner with the Artcaffe Group to enable their customers to experience the True-tone Night Portrait Mode of the Camon 19 at Artcaffe Oval, Westminster, Britam and Capital Centre for a month after the launch of the device.

The Tecno Spark 9 Series will be dedicated to the Generation Z and comes equipped with a 32MP selfie shooter and trendy right-angles edge 8.42mm lightweight and slim body.


On the other hand, Tecno Spark 9 Pro brings to the users a more premium experience and has a stylish design for those who are more concerned about the cutting edge of fashion.

The series comes with the fully upgraded front camera for a better self-expression experience through selfie technology.


The Camon 19 series will come in three variants; Camon 19, Camon 19 Pro And Camon 19 Pro 5G, with the 5G model expected in the country a month after the launch.

The devices will retail for Sh23,499 for Camon 19, Sh33,799 for Camon 19 Pro, and Sh41,599 for the Camon 19 Pro 5G.

The Spark 9 series will come in Spark 9C retailing at Sh15,599, Spark 9T at Sh19,799 and Spark 9Pro at Sh20,899.
