LG Electronics (LG) has once again been recognised at this year’s Red Dot Award for its superior consumer and industrial design, earning a total of 31 product design awards.

The winning designs include its InstaView Door-in-Door refrigerator, Fridge and Freezer pair, CordZero stick vacuum, air conditioner and Styler.

All the winning LG designer appliances were introduced at the CES 2021 awards, an event that showcases breakthrough technologies.

Among the LG designs picked as the most outstanding was in the Materials and Surfaces category for their implementation of Color, Material and Finish (CMF).

Stainless steel, glass, metal and FENIX – an innovative material with advanced coating technology developed by Arpa Industriale – among other materials are used to showcase the fine-tuning of each product in the collection.

LG says its designer appliances fuse technologically advanced home appliances with premium materials which can be customised to meet the specifications of each client.

“As a brand that strives to deliver quality products with exceptional design, it is always a great honor to receive recognition from Red Dot,” said Lee Chul-bae, head of LG Corporate Design Management Center.

He added, We will continue to pursue innovative designs that deliver on these expectations.”

Also recognised at the Red Dot Awards for its outstanding design is the LG WashTower, a vertical laundry solution that frees up more floor space while handling ultra-large loads.

Apart from home appliances, LG’s computer products such as UltraGear gaming monitor and LG gram also won awards for their advanced and sleek designs.

The Red Dot Award is one of the most prestigious professional design competitions globally.

Red Dot, in its website, says the prize is awarded for products that have “outstanding design quality” and are “aesthetically appealing, functional, smart and innovative.”

A total of 7,800 products were submitted to the awards this years for consideration by the jury.
