Four football teams have proceeded to the Rift Valley Safaricom Chapa Dimba regional finals after emerging victorious in their knock out matches played in Bomet and Nakuru counties.

The four are regional Chapa Dimba defending champions Laiser Hill Academy (Kajiado), Mwenge FC (Nakuru), Trinity Mission Girls (Nakuru) and Ol Melil Girl’s Secondary (Narok).

They join Wiyeta Girls, Itigo Girls, Ndura Sports, and PASC Langa FC who have qualified for the Rift region finals, which are slated for this weekend at ASK Showgrounds in Nakuru.

Nakuru’s Mwenge FC beat Lorubae FC from Samburu 4-0 to advance to the next stage in the clash that took place at Rift Valley Institute of Science & Technology in Nakuru on Sunday.

Elisha Nalianya touched the back of the net to open the scoresheet for Mwenge FC in the 15th minute before kicking in another goal in the 34th minute to put his team ahead.

Bonface Nyabuto netted the third goal in the 43rd minute with Joseph Ndung’u closing the scoresheet with the fourth goal in the 47th minute to send Samburu’s Lorubae packing.

“Of course, knockout stages always bring a lot of pressure, but this time it was different for us. We approached every match with a relaxed mindset, and it paid off with big wins in both our games played today,” said Mwenge FC coach Teddy Siwa.

He added, “Now, we must promptly begin preparations for the finals, given the limited time we have. We remain hopeful and firmly believe that we can secure the regional title and advance to the national championship.”

In the Girls' matches, the newly crowned Nakuru Champions, Trinity Mission Girls, dominated the match by trouncing Ridges Queens from Nyandarua 2-1.

The two goals by Trinity were scored by Peris Mumbi in the 17th and 22nd minutes with the Ridges Queens putting on a spirited fight and netting a consolation goal by Anne Wangechi.
