Meet Team NCBA; the newest four-ball under the Professional Golfers of Kenya’s Player Development Program (PDP):
• Edwin Mudanyi
• Erick Ooko
• Njuguna Ngugi
• Abraham Galgalo
The NCBA four will carry NCBA’s colours as they take on the PGK Equator Tour, and more importantly, as they chase bigger dreams, including a spot at the 2028 Olympics.
And NCBA Bank has put its money where the fairway is committing Sh3 million over the next three years to support the players with:
• Monthly stipends
• Access to coaching and mental training
• Fitness and gym programs
• Fully branded gear
• Mentorship from experienced professionals
• Regular playtime through the PGK Equator Tour, which awards world ranking points
With this backing, these four pros are now on course to chasing their wins, building their careers and realizing their dreams.
NCBA becomes one of seven corporate sponsors backing prof teams under the PGK framework, a model that is already transforming the local golf ecosystem.
The commitment by NCBA Bank is all part of a wider vision: to bridge the often-daunting gap between the amateur talents and global-level pros in Kenya.
Beyond medals, there is an economic mission too, supporting the government’s goal of monetising talent and creating real jobs through sport.
As the event wrapped up and the golfers took to the course for a few light swings, with this marking the launch of something bold, structured, and lasting.
Kenya’s golf journey to global stardom has just picked up the pace in earnest and Team NCBA is leading the way down the fairway, one swing at a time.
Go for it!
