Isaac Juma, the colourful Harambee Stars and AFC Leopards superfan died on Wednesday evening after being hacked at his home in Mumias, Kakamega County.

Police say they have apprehended the main suspct, 27-year-old Milton Namatsi, over the vicious attack and killing that a preliminary investigation has linked to a land dispute.

Reports indicate that Juma, who was a newspaper vendor and an ardent football fan, who painted his entire body during matches, was hacked to death by the attacker at around 11pm on Wednesday.

Western Regional police boss Peris Muthoni revealed to the media that police were questioning the suspect to establish the motive for the deadly attack.

According to his wife’s account to police, he met his unfortunate demise in a tussle over land after reportedly complaining that someone had been after his parcel of land a while back.

Juma was a newspaper vendor based in Nakuru City before retiring to his farm in Mumias and was a constant feature in most Harambee Stars and AFC Leopards.
